Breezy couldn’t believe her ears. Xan was saying everything she’d ever wanted to hear. Could she believe him? What if he changed his mind? Wolves mated for life she reassured herself, except in her parent’s case, she didn’t know of any other wolves who separated. She took a deep breath and nodded.
“Say it,” he demanded.
“You’re my mate, Xan.”
He bent and kissed her, a sweet so unlike Xan kiss, she felt tears well again. “See, that wasn’t so hard. Was it?” His thumbs brushed away her tears.
She smiled. “You really can be sweet.”
His hands reached for her ribs and began tickling. “Take it back. I am a big, bad ass motherfucker.”
His teasing was a surprise, endearing him to her even more. “You’re that, too. So, when does this debauchery begin?”
Her words had him going stone still. “We don’t need to do it now. I can wait a day or two.”
